Who We Are
Wagging Tongues Productions Ltd ("WTP") is the only London based production company that has created theatre productions specifically for British Asian children and youth. Directors, Abid Majid and Mariam Majid, a husband and wife duo, created the production company in response to the geopolitical environment in the western world. They felt it was important to create a platform dedicated to promote integration of the South Asian community in the UK. This in turn would provide the valuable data points to reinforce the multicultural identity of the next generation.
We have a vibrant team of free lance professionals. Each production is possible because of their hard work and dedication. The best part of film and theatre is the opportunity to work with a group amazing people who become a part of our 'Jungly Family'.
Writer and Director at WTP, Mariam graduated from the National College of Arts Pakistan with a first class degree in Sculpture. She has over twenty years of experience in the field of arts and drama. The writer and director of the Jungly Jadoogar series, she is also currently pursuing a post-graduate degree in Filmmaking from Kingston University. As a mother of three, she felt it was her duty to help strengthen the British Asian identity of her community, harnessed to its roots yet branching out into the global culture of the world.
Producer at WTP, Abid started his career in investment banking at Goldman Sachs. With over twenty years of experience in finance since graduating from the London School of Economics, he progressed to join Harmony Capital Management then as Managing Partner and CEO at Jason Capital Parters and Featherstone Capital.
